Meaningful and Transformative Relationships Through Language
How It Works
The strategy is simple.
Train volunteers in local churches and provide language lesson plans
VOLUNTEERING & TRAINING
We train volunteers in local churches and equip them with language lesson plans for weekly classes, following the French school schedule of six weeks on, two weeks off.
ENGAGEMENT & LEARNING
Flyers are distributed in refugee gathering areas shortly before each six-week session begins.
Invite students
Students partake in six-week language sessions
Each week, volunteers welcome and teach refugees using basic lesson plans from Refugee Oasis.
Students Receive Certificate
CERTIFICATION & INVITATION
At the end of the session, students receive a certificate noting their participation hours.
At the end of each session, students are invited to a Jesus Night, where they share a meal, play games, and read a passage of Scripture in both their new language and their native language. Each passage is accompanied by discovery Bible study questions to encourage group discussion. Students also receive a handout with a gospel message in their own language, helping us discover those who are spiritually-interested. Volunteers can then follow up through discovery Bible study.
